The Blessing Bridge | Finding Peace in Everyday Moments
a bridge in the forest
Some mornings begin with a lesson you never expected.
A few mornings ago, before leaving to cate for my mom, I decided to make myself a cup of herbal tea.
Normally, I would have a coffee, but I am doing a light cleansing ritual and coffee is not on the list at the moment.
So back to my tea. Cilantro, Oregano, and Basil, with a bit of honey to sweeten.
As I was pouring the tea through the strainer, some of the leaves made its way into my cup.
My first thaught was to strain it again, but like I mentioned, I was on my way to see my mom.
I was slightly annoyed because I knew I was not taking my time. And the last time I was rushing I poured boiling hot water all over my hand.
I had already gone through the process in my head.
Get another cup,
possibly make another mess,
starting over.
And I had already added my honey.
So I paused and took a moment.
I looked at those tiny leaves floating in my cup.
I smiled.
I took a sip anyway.
It was in that quiet moment, I felt something shift inside of me.
My tea was not ruined and there was no crisis.
There was no fire to put out.
My tea was simply jut that.
My beautiful cup of herbal tea.
As real as me.
Then I could hear Spirit whisper:
No over-straining today.
In that moment I met myself exactly where I was.
A moment to breathe.
A moment to pause.
A moment to be grateful.
A moment to allow myself and my tea to simply be.
There have been times when I have read my tea leaves, but it was not exactly my intention with this cup.
Ever since that day, I am being reminded to take it slow. One simple experience was able to reveal to me such an important lesson to me about myself.
I saw myself in that moment and how often I tend to over-strain in my own life.
Overthinking.
Overworking.
Overexplaining.
Overcorrecting.
Overfixing.
How often do you “over_____”???
The small bits of herbs floating in my tea that day carried with them a valuable lesson-
not everything needs to be fix’n
those tiny imperfect moments can be the very ones that bring peace.
and peace begins the moment we stop straining and filtering
The Blessing Bridge
All moments can be magickal if we allow them to be.
I often look for ways that I can share my thoughts with my readers and clients.
My tea experience evolved into what I would like to refer as The Blessing Bridge
Everyday encounters that invite us to cross small, almost invisible bridges.
The bridge between perfection and enough.
Between rushing and resting.
Between fear and trust.
Between who we think we should be and who we are.
There are many bridges we cross in one day.
Quietly.
unnoticed.
Our ancestors would tell many sacred stories about journeys that involved crossing a bridge, a river, a dessert, a valley.
Stepping into places that could not fully be seen.
All of the stories required the main character to display faith and trust in their Higher Power.
Rarely, was the path revealed before its time.
Perhaps this is what being in the moment teaches us.
Cross one small bridge at a time.
Choose presence over pressure to perform.
Choose grace over perfection.
Choose self-love and self-compassion over criticism.
take one breath
take one step
take one moment at a time
As you continue your journey, may each bridge you encounter become a blessing to you.
A quiet place to pause, reflect, and remember.
And may all of your blessings come with healing.
One cup of tea at a time.
With love and care,
🤍
